Sometimes you just have to know when to end.
What is the story of the Occupy movement in Canada? There is no story. Right from the beginning, protestors demands were vague complaints about “corporate greed,” “corrupt government,” and, in some cases, “Mother Earth dies, capitalism lives.” There is nothing concrete here and maybe that’s why the “protest” has devolved into what it has. They are biting police officers and dumping buckets of urine on City workers. The storyline, if there ever was one, has officially been abandoned and that makes for a restless, bored and indifferent audience. If you are going to win a crowd with your story, be specific. Be concrete. But most of all, know when to wrap it up.
